Rahu in Capricorn & Ketu in Cancer 2026-2028
From 5 December 2026 to June 2028. What four Vedic astrologers say for every Lagna and Moon sign, with remedies and dates.
Find your sign
Read the section for your Lagna (ascendant) and again for your Moon sign. The Lagna shows what you will think and do; the Moon sign shows how the world treats you. Don't know them? Make your free Kundli.
The big picture
Rahu moves from one Saturn sign to another. In Aquarius it wanted to disrupt the system; in Capricorn it wants to become the system. Hunger for title, position and authority rises, and so does the risk of reaching the next floor and immediately eyeing the one above. (Vinita Lenka)
Capricorn is earthy and practical. Plans made while Rahu was in Aquarius now meet reality: ideas need paperwork, money and proof, and shortcuts tend to fail. How well this goes depends a lot on the strength of Saturn in your own chart. (Deepanshu Giri)
Rahu expands the house it enters, and it also expands your hunger for that house. People who worked hard without reward get their opening now. The theme is systemic change: old structures, at home and in the world, give way. (Hemant)
Ketu in Cancer is a life reset, not a disaster. It changes your old relationship with whatever it touches and often removes your need for a thing rather than the thing itself. Ketu crosses the Leo-Cancer gandanta (Magha to Ashlesha), so suppressed emotions and family patterns surface first and settle later. (Hemant)
Ketu works like completion. It starts with confusion and insecurity in 2026 and the same area becomes stable and resolved by 2027-28. (Hemant)
Nakshatra phases
Acquire resources: money, land, equipment, infrastructure. Ambition gets loud.
Control of information: media, AI, algorithms, education. More information is not more truth.
Legitimacy and authority: promotions, mergers, titles, and the risk of manufactured authority.
Untie emotional knots: family manipulation, inherited fears, toxic habits.
Decide what still deserves your care and what you carry only out of habit.
Restore what is worth keeping: reconciliations, a return home.
Phases from Vinita Lenka.
Dates to mark
- Solar eclipse in Dhanishta, a reset point for the house Rahu occupies
- Lunar eclipse in Magha
- Jupiter returns to Cancer and travels with Ketu
- The window most astrologers ask you to handle carefully
- Eclipse season on the Cancer-Capricorn axis
- Mars joins Rahu in Capricorn: huge drive, easy to overdo
Last time on this axis
- 2008-09: housing and mortgage stress turned into the global financial crisis, food and fuel prices soared, governments intervened on a huge scale, and WHO declared the H1N1 pandemic in June 2009. (Vinita Lenka)
- 1989-91: the Berlin Wall fell, the Soviet Union collapsed and India liberalised its economy. 2008 also brought Chandrayaan-1 and the Mumbai attacks. (Hemant)
- Expect themes that rhyme with 2008, not a replay. Saturn and Jupiter are in different places this time. (Vinita Lenka)
For the world
- Bigger companies, more government regulation, infrastructure and industrial policy. In AI the question shifts from who invented it to who owns the data centre, the power and the contracts. (Vinita Lenka)
- Scams inside companies and government come out. Pressure on the central government, and in the first three or four months diplomatic relations with western countries can cool. Technology such as AI and even flying cars moves into the mainstream of work. (Aastroind)
- Housing affordability, food, water, pensions, insurance, migration and care for elders and children are the areas to watch. (Vinita Lenka)
Aries (Mesh) Lagna or Moon sign
Rahu in your 10th house, Ketu in your 4th house
Career asks for more of you while home life asks you to simplify. A bigger role is likely, and the way you live at home may change to make room for it.
Where the astrologers agree
- A push in career: promotion, a larger role, a change of company, more public visibility. (Hemant, Deepanshu Giri, Vinita Lenka)
- What home means to you changes. A move of house or city, a child leaving for college or work, or parents needing a new arrangement are all possible. (Hemant, Vinita Lenka)
- Openings tend to come through technology, digital work, multinational firms or overseas projects. (Hemant, Vinita Lenka)
What each one adds
If you have been out of work, a job can arrive suddenly through AI, digital or foreign companies. Many will feel the urge to start a business in 2027.

If Rahu or Ketu touches a planet in your chart
Sign-wise readings are general. The transit hits hardest when Rahu passes over a planet in your birth chart in Capricorn, or Ketu over one in Cancer.
- A planet in Capricorn in your birth chart: a major change in career, either away from home or through the internet and AI. (Aastroind)
- Over your natal Venus: relationships begin and break; if Venus is a yogakaraka, money and a career opening follow. (Aastroind)
- Over your natal Mars: control anger, people will try to trigger you; take care of body and family. (Aastroind)
- Over your natal Jupiter: watch health closely. (Aastroind)
- Over your natal Moon: fame, travel and new connections, with emotional ups and downs. (Aastroind)
- Ketu over your natal Rahu brings maturity and closes a chapter; over your Atmakaraka it can bring spiritual awakening and sudden recognition. (Hemant)
Remedies for everyone
- Chant “Om Ketave Namah” 108 times in the evening. (Hemant)
- Worship Lord Ganesha and chant “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah”. (Hemant)
- Reduce unnecessary attachments, share what you have in excess, and stop needing to win every argument. (Hemant)
- Pitru Tarpan or Shraddha if ancestral issues have been pointed out in your chart. (Hemant)
- If you feel emotionally shaken, wear a pearl only after consulting an astrologer. Grey clothes or donating grey items calm Ketu. (Hemant)
- Practical changes in behaviour work better than gemstones or costly rituals: keep your papers in order and keep a steady routine. (Vinita Lenka)
Common questions
When does Rahu enter Capricorn in 2026?
Rahu enters Capricorn and Ketu enters Cancer on 5 December 2026 and both stay there until June 2028, about 18 months. Vinita Lenka counts the transit from 25 November 2026.
Should I read this for my Lagna or my Moon sign?
Read both. Hemant uses the Lagna for what you will think and do, and the Moon sign for how the world treats you. Deepanshu Giri reads mainly from the Moon sign, and Vinita Lenka says the readings work for the Lagna, the Moon sign or the sign of your running dasha.
Is Ketu in Cancer bad for home and mother?
None of the astrologers read it that way. Vinita Lenka calls that reading too basic: Ketu changes what home means to you. Hemant says Ketu removes your need for a thing, not the thing itself.
Which signs benefit most from Rahu in Capricorn?
Rahu does well in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses, which makes this transit strongest for Scorpio, Leo, Aries and Pisces. Hemant calls the 3rd and 11th the best of all. Results still depend on your own chart and dasha.
